Priess, William Gerald

Bill Priess of Schenectady, New York attended Grinnell for the first semester of his freshman year. He also attended Union College and Boston University and served in the U.S. Navy.
Real estate and securities sales were his endeavors in New York and Massachusetts before moving to Arizona in 1977. In Scottsdale, Bill continued these pursuits. He also became involved in the petroleum industry and was the author of Understanding the oil business: A layman’s guide to the petroleum industry and personal investing (Lincoln Petroleum Corp., Scottsdale, AZ 1981).
While working in Massachusetts, he met and married Brenda “Bunny” Goode, but they were divorced in 1989. She still remembers the excellent meals he loved to cook.
Bill died at age 68 after a long period of poor health. He was survived by two sons, William Matthew and Erich.
