Krumel, Nancy Margaret (Strindmo) (November 2, 1939—June 15, 2021)
Nancy Strindmo from her home In Shawnee Mission, Kansas joined our class in the Fall of 1957 and was graduated with a B.A. degree in Sociology-Anthropology in June 1961. She was a resident of James Hall (freshman), Read Hall (sophomore) and Haines Hall (senior) and was active in Grinnell Players.
On December 29, 1961, she married Karl L. Krumel (Grinnell, 1960, chemistry B.A., from Santa Ana, California). They immediately moved for two years to East Lansing, Michigan, where Karl obtained a graduate degree at Michigan State University. And then it was on to Midland, Michigan, where Karl was employed by Dow Chemical Company for many years and where he was a co-inventor on many patent applications for chemical compositions.
The two of them had two daughters: Debra Lee, born in 1965 and Sharon Margaret, born in 1967.
For our reunion in 1986 Nancy said she was interested in tennis, bridge, sailing and volunteering for the Midland Center for the Arts.
Nancy died on June 15, 2021 in Bonita Springs, Florida. Four months later (October 27, 2021), Karl passed away.
