Updated Class Agent Mission Statement
ENHANCED MISSION STATEMENT
Class Agents are a vital part of Grinnell College’s efforts to foster and maintain class affinity through community — engaging the talent, passion for learning, and generosity of its alumni — starting at graduation and continuing through a lifetime.
Objectives:
-
-
- Embody Grinnell’s commitment to social responsibility, lifelong learning, and community engagement, ensuring that the values instilled during their time at Grinnell continue to thrive within the alumni community and beyond — remembering the world needs more Grinnellians.
- Foster and create lasting connections among their classmates, other alumni, and the College, building a strong sense of community that keeps alumni engaged with Grinnell’s mission. These connections inspire gifts of time, talent, and resources — such as financial contributions and shared expertise — which enrich the experiences of current and future Grinnellians and help ensure the success and legacy of Grinnell College.
- Model a spirit of volunteerism and giving back to the College, while amplifying additional connections back to campus, whether through sharing campus news, encouraging volunteering, participating in regional or campus events, or attending Reunion, ensuring that alumni remain actively engaged in the life of the College in meaningful ways and well represented in the college community.
- Inspire excitement about the College and keep Grinnell present in the lives of their classmates beyond graduation, spanning time and distance to keep the Grinnell flame alive and ensuring that the bond formed at Grinnell remains a lifelong source of pride and connection.
-

2023 Post: Your Class Liaisons
Class of 2023,
Since we graduated a few months ago, now is a great time to get to know the 2023 Class Liaisons! All of us have been taking our time to get our lives figured out and there’s still plenty to do, but we’ll be alright in the end. As an alum, there’s still plenty of resources you can use, including CLS Advisors and other past alums! There’s also many events and communities you can join based on where you live in the world. Join the alumni community on Linkedin via the Grinnell College page and Alumni page. For more resources, visit the Young Alumni Resource page. Don’t forget about the Alumni Instagram page.
We, the class liaisons, are here for you to keep in touch with both your classmates and your Grinnell roots as we figure out the future! Our year has three; one class agent and two Class Fund Directors. Class Agents help to connect our class year through alum news and events. Class Fund Directors manage donations from 2023 alums and help plan events such as our class reunion. If you have any suggestions for us about what we can do this year or improve on, please share your ideas below!
